SURVIVOR 8 ALL-STARS ~ To be blunt, Susan Hawk's voluntary exit from S8 All-Stars disappointed us.  The incident that sparked her departure was rude & caddish to be sure, but if Sue's reaction was the way everyone responded to adversity, then this world would be a bizarre & desperate place.  Previously, truck-driver Sue seemed a fine role model for the modern woman.  Now we're not so sure.

Susan Hawk was, is, and will forever be an original ~ an original *what* we're not entirely sure, but an original she certainly was, is, and forever shall be.  What we like most about Sue is her complete lack of pretense: she knows who she is, she doesn't put on airs, and she always but always tells it like it is.
It's precisely those qualities that both made her stand out from the crowd on Survivor 1, and helped her make it all the way to the final four.  And it's those same qualities that sparked her to verbally shred the two remaining castaways, Richard Hatch and Kelly Wiglesworth, in one of television's great moments, the 'snake & rat' speech for which she'll always be remembered.
More recently Sue and another of her fellow SurvivorFoxes, Alicia Calaway of Survivor 2, returned to reality TV by spending a night in the Big Brother house, where together the SurvivorFoxes outlasted, outwitted, and outplayed the BB2 houseguests to take home a $15,000 cash prize.
