JoAnna Ward's relatively early exit from
the Amazon served as another reminder that
the game of Survivor can be cruel &
unjust. She left little doubt that she
was the singularly strongest, ablest female
competitor to be cast for S6 ~ and come to
think of it would likely have matched up favorably
against all SurvivorFoxes past.
But she erred in thinking that her strength would be
enough, that the Lord would work in
mysterious ways to carry her to victory.
In point of fact it may have been JoAnna's
religious attributions that carried her
to *defeat* instead. For it's no great secret
that the very *last* thing grown adults want
to hear in a group setting ~ particularly
with network television cameras rolling ~ is an
endless stream of Psalms from The Living
Bible! Let there be no mistake
about it: sermons and Survivor don't mix;
never have, never will.
Even so ~ praise be, JoAnna, hallelujah and amen
~ swing low your sweet chariot
